National E-security Awareness Week, 6-13 June 2008

As part of National E-security Awareness Week, 6-13 June 2008, the Office will be supporting efforts to promote awareness of e-security risks and to encourage Australians to protect themselves online.

Some of the risks associated with the Internet and email can include the theft of personal and other information, scams, cyber-bullying, online predators, and viruses.

The three key messages for the Week are for businesses and families to:

  • secure their computers;
  • secure their wireless connection; and
  • safeguard their online social networking activities.
