Question: What can Alternative Dispute Resolution Schemes use and disclose another person's (a third party's) information for?

Answer: Alternative dispute resolution schemes collect information for the primary purpose of resolving disputes. Once a dispute handler has collected personal information it can be used and disclosed as needed for that purpose.

For example, relevant personal information about another person (a third party), collected by a dispute resolution scheme can be disclosed to a respondent organisation for the purpose of seeking to resolve the complaint. More information on the use and disclosure of information can be found at the Guidelines to the National Privacy Principles.
